Musings about Twitter and the niceness of strangers

It was May 2012 and I was late to the Twitter game. I had a personal account that I randomly used but nothing for Robinson Lane. By the time I signed up, @RobinsonLane was taken. I really wanted that handle so it would match my Instagram account but after stewing on it a while I decided to go with @RobinsonLn.

And, I was really fine with it but on a whim this past November I decided to check out @RobinsonLane. Huh. No tweets and only following a handful of people. I decided that it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to her:

I didn’t really expect to hear from her or thought she’d want a lot of money for it – so I went about my day and forgot about it. But, surprisingly, I woke up the next morning to an email saying she’d be more than happy to transfer it over to me! We talked back and forth (her name is Lane Robinson so we got a kick out of that) and I found out she was a George Strait fan. Hello, I’m the queen of lyric necklaces so of course I had to send her something for her trouble and what I consider – her generosity. I appreciate you, Lane, so much! It was refreshing to ‘work’ with you.
